Keeping Children Safe Online

The essential qualification for all teachers

Conforms to Government and OFSTED guidance on the teaching of online safety in schools. The Certificate tests the Educator's teaching of esafety and their ability to deal with incidents of cyberbullying, intimidation or abuse professionally and successfully. 

Online and Mobile Technologies present exciting opportunities to enhance both learning and teaching. Harnessing the positive benefits of technology means educators are provided with innovative systems and tools to add to their professional repertoire.


This certificate considers ways in which to balance benefits and risk, ultimately leading to a safe and productive educational experience for the children and young people involved.


Participants are encouraged to explore ways in which online safety tools, systems and new methods of working can be used to help ensure children are better protected when online and/or using mobile technologies.

 

Outcomes

  • An increased awareness of current and potential threats to a child or young person when using online and/or mobile technologies.

  • An improved ability to identify areas and issues, existent within the school and/or the student’s wider environment, which require to be considered when ensuring children’s wellbeing online.

  • An increased knowledge of online safety methodologies, support and best practice guidance.

  • An improved ability to apply appropriate, practical safeguarding precautions within a teaching and learning environment.

  • An enhanced understanding of recommended responses to safety breaches and incidents including reference to specialist advice and support.

Timescale

Collating and organising your evidence may take you up to 8 hours. Upon your submission, our assessors work swiftly to verify your evidence against the certification criteria. Most certificates are issued within 1 week.

Graduates Holding Diplomas
  1. Certificate requires an average of 8 hours of time collating and refining evidence

  2. Certificate enrolment and access to resources & support is for 3 months.

  3. Candidates are required to submit a portfolio of evidence including lesson plan and accompanying resources.

  4. Lessons must be current and have been delivered within the previous 12 months.

  5. Your designated assessor will work with you through the process. 

  6. Choose from online or face to face support. Contact us for cost options.

Schools and Colleges are legally obliged to ensure the online safety of their students. This includes the detection and prevention of cyberbullying, online grooming, indoctrination and abuse.

Proof of your organisation´s commitment to protecting pupils and staff.  Your team is required to collate evidence of both teaching and learning and school policies and procedures.

As an independent consultant or trainer working with schools, the EPICT Trainer Diploma enables you to provide sought after training directly to your schools.  Once you have undertaken your Train the Trainer Diploma, we provide you with all the support you need to run your own EPICT/IPICT Centre.
