EPICT

Secondary

The EPICT Licence Programme is in use in many secondary schools throughout the UK.  From long established secondaries through BSF new builds and academies, EPICT is helping to modernise learning and teaching while empowering staff.

With the highest level of investment in technology ever seen in UK schools, maximising the intelligent use of these resources becomes a serious challenge for management.

Case Studies

Broadgreen International School, Liverpool - Broadgreen were early adopters of the EPICT Licence programme, sending a key member of staff on an EPICT Facilitator training course.  This in-house ability has helped to strengthen Broadgreen's position as an innovative and forward thinking school. Staff at Broadgreen have been working at their own pace through their choice of EPICT modules, supported internally and attaining Bronze, Silver and Gold EPICT certifications.  Staff have provided proof of their use of various technologies as evidence towards their EPICT modules including Quizdom, many educational websites, digital cameras, Promethean IWBs and online games.

Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College, Cheshire - As part of the BECTA ESafety Peer Support Network, a school Assistant Curriculum Leader became Sandbach's EPICT facilitator through attendance at an ESPSN/TDA/EPICT Facilitator Course.   Staff within Sandbach are now undertaking their ESafety Awareness Certificate with a view to achieving the EPICT ESafety School Award.  Many will continue their journey onto Bronze and beyond.

Hackney Free and Parochial C of E Secondary School - Bismark Adum-Kwapong is Head of ICT and responsible for keeping staff aware of esafety.  Bismark documented recent staff development which incorporated the use of CEOP TUK videos.  Explaining the structure and rationale of his session alongwith a critical evaluation of the process including reflection on achievement of aims enabled Bismark to attain the EPICT ESafety Awarness Certificate.

Discovery CLC and Wirral MBC - Following joint Facilitator training sessions, staff from both are now fully able to support and assess candidates from partner schools.

Girls Day School Trust - The trust has 30 trained Facilitators across 22 schools.  Staff are attaining their EPICT awards and proving their use and integration of technology within teaching and learning.  EPICT is helping to maintain the outstanding reputation of the GDST group in providing a first-class education educational experience to their students.
