EPICT allows you to prove your competency with teaching and technology and
attain a recognised qualification.
For those who are new to technology, support and training comes as part of
the programme.
With EPICT the focus is on pedagogical integration of ICT and technology
and impact upon teaching and learning, not the functionality of the computers
or technical kit.
EPICT works in partnership with the British Institute for Learning and Development.
EPICT is a work-based CPD programme - evidence is generated and gathered
into your CPD portfolio.
No exams, no extended extra effort.
Education professionals prove their use of technology and the positive effects
on learning and teaching through a combination of lesson evidence and submission
of example resources used.
Each module is 15 hours notional duration. Actual study time varies dependent upon the experience of the individual and study is flexible.

I was keen to undertake work-based study which
would enable me to develop my own understanding, have an immediate affect
on my class and also provide recognition for my efforts. The EPICT licence
allowed me to do this. The skills I have developed during the course have
allowed ICT to have a significant impact on the work I do in my classroom.
I have since completed the Facilitator training and am beginning to work with
other staff to support their training. This provides me with the opportunity
to continue to develop and gain from their ideas and tasks.

"EPICT is a great way for teachers and lecturers to learn how to integrate ICT into their teaching. It looks at how to pedagogically apply relevant ICT into the curriculum to enhance the overall learning experience for students"
Chris McDermott, E-Learning Adviser, Dundee College - EPICT Facilitator
"with the emphasis on pedagogy, it really cuts to the heart of teaching and learning with ICT. The core modules address important areas of ICT whereas the optional modules allow the user to personalise their learning in areas such as games, special needs, interactive whiteboards and VLEs."
Steve Bunce, Lead Consultant for ICT across the curriculum and Secondary ICT Consultant, Northumberland County Council
