Duration

Each module is 15 hours maximum duration (except esafety awareness @ 20 hours). Actual study time varies according to the previous knowledge/experience of the individual. EPICT is an in-service, evidence based qualification - there are no examinations - participants submit short, work-based reports to their assigned Facilitator.

Educators can access the programme through authorised EPICT providers or may choose to have their own internal facilitator/s trained in EPICT enabling internal assessment within their school/college/organisation.

“The skills I have developed during the course have allowed ICT to have a significant impact on the work I do in my classroom. I have since completed the Facilitator training and am beginning to work with other staff to support their training.” Vicky Bain – EPICT Licence Holder

“As a staff we have all worked together on the esafety aspect of our EPICT. It has pulled the whole staff together and given us a shared understanding of how to help the children stay safe”
Linda Sams, HeadTeacher

Case Study - "I use Qwizdom ...."

Mrs Muggoch is a Senior Years teacher at Helensburgh Primary School.  She has been using interactive voting technology and presentations with the pupils since the school purchased Qwizdom sets 18 months ago.  Her evidence of use within several lessons, enabled Mrs Muggoch to achieve EPICT Silver Award by satisfying the criteria for the following modules:

ESafety Awareness

Presentation Technology, IWBs and Interactivity

Creating Learning Materials

Electronic Communication and Collaboration

EAssessment

Literacy and ICT

She is now working on evidence for her final two modules (using different technologies) in order to achieve EPICT Gold.

Undertaking EPICT

An individual can approach an authorised EPICT provider.  Alternatively, an organisation may choose to train one or more key members of staff as EPICT Facilitators enabling in-house assessment.  Facilitators are required to undertake a day's training and receive on-going support.  An organisation can arrange on-site training for facilitators. (contact us for more details).
