About EPICT

The EPICT Licence is a European orginated programme designed to:-

Increase and enhance the use of technology within teaching and learning
Improve returns on investment on the extensive amount of technology and equipment now deployed within schools, colleges and associated organisations

EPICT Ethos:-

Reward the education and learning professional for their efforts with technology
Provide an internationally recognised qualification which accentuates the educator's skills in the pedagogical integration of the technology and not just the ICT usage itself

Uptake

The EPICT Licence is a proven CPD staff development qualification in the practical integration of ICT within everday teaching. In use in schools and colleges througout the UK, EPICT is delivered in-house by central staff members, externally by government funded support agencies or by certified professional development organisations.

Validation

Has been independently validated and included as a Level 8 qualification within the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (Higher National Diploma/Diploma in Higher Education) broadly equivalent to Level 5 of the England, Wales and Nothern Ireland Framework. The EPICT Licence also attracts 20 credits. More information
It is our intention to apply for inclusion in the QCF for England, Wales and Northern Ireland when transfer arrangements are finalised by the UK Agencies.
EPICT Licence (Gold Level) can qualify for up to 60 Masters Level Credits towards identified courses at partner universities. This enables EPICT Licence holders to continue their studies at Post-Graduate Level if they wish. (These arrangements are subject to the entry conditions of the University. EPICT are not responsible for entry decisions- further contact details can be provided).
Is endorsed by the British Institute for Learning and Development. EPICT Facilitators qualify for preferential membership of the Institute and EPICT Licence holders are offered fast-track application routes. Organisations employing EPICT Facilitators qualify for the BILD Skills Mark.
Is approved as a CPD Provider to Scottish Education and included in the Register supported by the Scottish Executive
What is a CPD provider?
"A CPD provider is an individual or organisation that has the knowledge and the ability to provide CPD opportunities to educators. Providers should have the relevant experience required to deliver opportunities, as well as having procedures in place to assure the quality of their delivery. They should have the capacity to respond to the needs of individual learners and be able to respond to the demand for programmes." LTScotland
EPICT conform to and upholds the TDA CPD Code of Practice which builds upon the Department for Children, Schools and Families’ (DCSF) guidance document, Good Value CPD. The code states "CPD consists of reflective activity designed to improve an individual’s attributes, knowledge, understanding and skills. It supports individual needs and improves professional practice"
